Just an update to this saga, so far so GOOD. The powerhead from blackbird has about 10-15 hrs on it and is running very well. Checked compression the other day engine was cold at 125lbs even across all 3 cylinders. The only issue i had with the powerhead was a small trickle of water from a bolt on the head but after heat cycling the engine and retorqueing this has gone away.

Dunno if things are changing for the better at oneoutboard.com or if i am just one of the lucky ones.
