70EL77 Tell Tale How Do I?

Since I have my motor (70EL77) torn down somewhat (http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=418056) where would the best place to put a tell tale? Should it be near the t'stat or near the exhaust manifold?

Look at a cooling diagram of your engine, the tell tale should be before the thermostat, it should show what the water pump is pumping before the thermostat has to open.
If I remember correctly when I converted one it was at the top of the cylinder head, but I can't rember the model engine it was.
You might try a search, I know I have seen it discussed here before.

You are correct, the t'stat is at the top of the head. I figured since I have the motor torn apart it would be a great time to put one in. Thanks Daviet.
