Hey guys I have been working on this old motor and it wants to crank but just not firing off just yet. Anyway after about 20 pulls I noticed some gas around the bottom of the power head and got to looking for where it may be coming from. There is a nipple that sticks out just under and to the right of the fuel pump that had a piece of dry rotted line on it. Where does this line go to? I noticed there is another nipple sticking out just above and to the left of the carb, under the roller cam. Is this where that line connects to and what does it do. The schematics on the internet show the one under the fuel pump being an OIL LINE.

It is indeed an oil line connecting the 2 nipples you located. I guess it oils the upper bearing, and it should be connected. I've replaced the old tube on similar motors with 5/32" fuel line and it fit fine.

Good luck!

Yep, carries oil up to the upper bearing. Of course, the oil is mostly gasoline (the stuff you put in the tank).
