Anybody know the WOT rpm for a 84 50 hp rude? I got a Clymore Manual and all I can find referencing to rpm is 3500 to set the timing.

The factory probably recommends 5500 but the pros here will recommend 5800 withan average load.

Thanks, Dave. I aquired the engine with 2 extra props that were really chewed up (read that as chunks missing). The one that is on it, and each of the , uh spares, are a diffent size. With the one that is on it, I can reach 5000 rpm with the engine trimmed up . Now, I got a number that I can shoot for. Thanks

You definitely need to raise rpm's.

Do a search from "prop size" or something similar. You will get a lot of background info to use. Usually suggestions will be made to adjust the motor height first then change props.
