50/60 hp Evinrude year and over heating?

Can i get the year and HP for a evinrude?
Model # is: E50BICO
Serial# is: G1040228

Also, seller states that the engine is over heating under load but other wise runs good.
Engine seems to be pumping water fine though, could this be as simple as a thermostate or water pump? Or signs of a greater issue??

It's an '85 50HP. If it's overheating, I would check compression before buying. No idea what's causing the overheat w/o some troubleshooting. Why not find a motor that isn't overheating? In any case, I wouldn't offer much for htis one.

Thanks Jim! Compression is good, but your right, no need to rush into it.. Still have a few weeks until I want/need the boat in..
