Re: 5.0 OMC idle question

Thanks but is there any damage as a result of having the idle too high or anything I should check out?

Re: 5.0 OMC idle question

Its really hard on the gears in the lower when shifting into gear.
Is there a reason its set that high?

Disconnect the throttle cable at the carb.Set the idle then adjust the cable so it puts just a slight pre-load on the carb linkage when the control is in the idle position.

If it will not idle smooth at 600 to 700 then you have other issues.
