whats been done, new primer solenoid, working properly, carb rebuild working properly, reeds look like new, clean inline closed. compression 135 each. so i don't think it is blow by from the cylinder, and reeds not closing would cause it. what else.

A blown reed cage gasket? A pretty rare bird, but a possibility.

If it isn't the reed, it is most likely that the float valve is not closing. Put steady pressure on the primer bulb and see if it holds. Fuel has to come from one end or the other, obviously.

I discounted the primer solenoid because you say it is only one carburetor.

Look for breakdown in the reed plate gasketing between cylinders.

If reeds are sealing that is all I can think of. :(
