Hi,
I was just working on a 1985ish 4 hp johnson, and I put it in a big test tank with an exhaust fan, so it wasn't sucking is second-hand smoke, and Put it if full throttle just for a few seconds, then tryed to idle it down and it sort of coughed/sputtered and then just died. I cleaned out the carby and made sure all the jets were clear and all of that sort of stuff, put it back togeather and gave it another run. It ran perfectly for a few seconds then just ran worse. I tryed tuning it up and that made it run a small bit better but still wouldn't idle. If anyone knows whats going on with this motor please let me know.
