I'm trying to find out what part numbers translate to the OEM (857361). I see different numbers out there but don't know if they are going to work or a different manufacturer part number? I see numbers that say they are superceded (3862176/3854922) but they don't look like.

First post here and an official newbie to the bigger boat world. My little 22' Crestliner is givin me fits.

What is the serial number or full model number (the letter or letters after the 4.3Gi ) of your engine. Not year, need numbers. If you aren't sure which is which, I know I won't without knowing what engine you have.

Re: 4.3 Gi coil

That is the block casting number from GM, we need the Model number or Serial number from Volvo. That's what tells us what ignition system you have.
This may help you find it.

Looked for it using the page you tagged. MIA except for a tattered upc code.

Spark plugs.jpg

97 Crestliner Eagle. Origional owner overheated it on the way back from Mexico. New engine in 92-94 (?) and the second owner sold it to me with no changes.

Re: 4.3 Gi coil

And now for the big question... First trip out everything ran fine. A few electronic issues with equipement but got that resolved behind the steering wheel. Second trip a plug wire came off and may have gotten in water in the bilge area. Tested the plug wire and resistance was the same as it's brother on the other side. Next trip the voltage started dropping and it would falter around 2500rpm. Idled fine, started fine, maybe a little shimmy but figured that was part of the problem. Took the alternator off and it was only pushing 11.4 at full. Purchased a new one and went through all the tests according to the shop manual. Checks one and two are fine. Three, (L2 test) yields zero on the meter. According to that, I need a new regulator?
