3 reds wires in my key switch 1997 c150

I have 3 red wires in my key switch
one of them i assume comes from the solenoid with the 20 amp fuse "that's were i guess it gets the power"
the second one i have hooked up to red from the trim and tilt
the third one was just hanging there off the key switch the problem is the motor would not start,not even crank till i jumpered the third red wire to positve on battery.I would like to know where the wires go My SELOC manual on the wiring diagram 1997 c150 is miniture form and even with a magnifing glass i have trouble seeing it thanks
