2005 Johnson 115hp draining battery?

After charging the battery, while hooking up the + terminal I saw a spark. Does this engine draw any power when not running? There 3 hot wires to hook up, one very large(6ga) and 2 smaller(14ga)wires. I would assume the smaller wires are for accessories. This only happened when I hooked up the large wire. <br /><br />Chris

You will need to trace the wires down, and see what they are hooked up to. <br /><br />Otherwise you will have a dead battery again. Every thing is suposed to be off when the switch key is off.<br /><br />Good luck!

leave all negative hooked up,disconnect all positive wires.get a voltmeter connect one end to positive termial & the other end to positive leads one at a time look for voltage,start disconnecting fuses and look for a voltage drop..
