2002 Chevy Silverado Horn Broke

Last night somebody pulled out in front of me (almost causing me to smack into their drivers-side door) and I layed on the horn as a warning.

On the way home, I went to tap my horn at a neighbor to say "hi" and it didn't work. I can't get it to work now no matter what I do.

What could have happened to break the horn?

Should be a fuse for it in the panel. Check that first...

I'll check into that this afternoon. I am hoping that it is a fuse and not something mechanical.

How easy is it to remove the cover where the horn switch is? It should be located in the middle of the steering wheel where you press to honk the horn, right?

Our house was robbed and my horn took a back-seat to getting an alarm system, filling out police reports, insurance reports, etc...

About $5,500 worth of electronic equipment. The worst part is the reaction of my 3 kids (especially my daughter). I'm not a violent person, but would sure like to "question" the person(s) who decided that they had a right to my hard-earned property instead of being a decent human being and earning money themselves.

Stealing has to be one of the oldest professions out there.
