2001 Mercury 25 Big Foot 4-stroke

I would like your opinion on a Mercury 25 Big Foot 4-stroke that is new at the dealer's. What does big foot mean? Can I get better speed with this 186 lbs heavy motor in my Boston Whaler Sport 11' rated at 570 lbs max vs. my current rigging with a 72 lbs heavy Chrysler 20 HP?

Not really an engine trouble question, RBruce.<br /><br />Your BW 11 is rated for max 20hp. The 11 does not respond safely to overpower or overweight engines.<br /><br />The "Bigfoot" engines have an oversize gearcase/foot and larger props for operating displacement hulls, like pontoons and barges.<br /><br />Moving to general outboard.
