2 strokes future ?

i been reading to learn about 2 stroke motors. there was one article that said 2 stroke engines will be banned someday because of its enviromental issues with leaking spent fuel from its exhaust and that some lakes wont allow 2 strokes on it because of this.. anybody know anything about this?

The Mercury Optimax and the BRP E-tec are still 2 strokes but with a lot of fancy electronic fuel systems to meet the 3 & 4 Star ratings, the older 2 stokes will slowly die out due to parts discontinued or overpriced replacements due to the (law)

global warming can not come soon enough in the northeast. would never have to winterize thanks for the info

The trouble with the scientific data is, you actually have to read the DATA, not listen those who have heard what the data means. Its sort of like telling the person at the head of the line, "breakfast is now served", and they then turn to the person behind them and pass on that message. By the time the last person in the line gets the message, the message now is "the bar is closed".
