2 stroke vs. 2cycle ( different???)

Sorry if this is a dumb question, I thought I read somewhere that they were different.

The correct term for that type engine is "2 stroke cycle". Two strokes of the piston complete one engine cycle.<br /><br />The other common engine is the "4 stroke cycle" in which 4 strokes of the piston are required to complete one engine cycle. :)
