Hey everybody
I have a an opportunity to purchase a 1999 fisher pro avenger aluminium
20' boat. It is basically a Spectrum boat all welded hull. I am hearing that when Tracker
Marine bought the Spectrum Line in 1997 they continued making the boats.
My question is ? Has anyone heard of these boats being lemons as the ones made by Tracker Marine.
I am reading horror stories on the internet of the hulls cracking and not just on the welded seams.
I am just curious as to if anyone has heard of this or experienced this.
It would be a shame because I like the deep vee of the boat.

My spectrum was very thin skinned, as in the hull seemed very thin, and was deformed from the waves hitting the hull and all the internal support points.

Also, handling was more like a jet boat with the smooth strapless hull.

This is why i decided to sell it.
Never again.

If you want a real Fisher boat, buy one from when they were independent, and made one of the best all aluminum boats available. I believe that would be pre 1988.
