right there at the yoke, input shaft, little bit of wiggle.. Sounded like a bad rod bearing. Noise gone after I removed the drive

the bearing caps are pressed into the yoke and should be a tight fit. If the cap is loose the yoke or inputshaft needs replacing . If you mean slop in the U joint cross, then replace the U joints

upon closer inspection, the locknut was loose and the bevel washer had excessive wear on the u joint assembly Everything else looked good on the upper end.
​Waiting on the part, hope that is all that's needed
