1999 50 hp Merc 4 stroke running rough

Above 2200 rpm motor runs fantastic. As soon as throttle below 2200 it runs like crap. I have changed plugs, rebuilt fuel pump, changed fuel filter and fuel supply line. Tried another fuel tank (fresh fuel) in case of water. Still runs like crap below 2200 rpm. Have not touched the carbs.

Any suggestions from some of you whiz mechanics would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks......Rut

is this a carbed 4 stroke ? if so the slow speed jets are very small and get clogged up very easy.. i would say you would need to take a look at the carbs or you may be loosing spark on one cyl or more give me a shout back on what you find i hope it helps
