1998 Evinrude 150 ficht weak spark

I have a 1998 Evinrude 150 ficht that has very weak spark. Everything sounds normal when cranking, but it does not fire. The stop switch appears to function properly and the fuel pump operates. Nothing in the service manual I have pertains to weak spark, only no spark or spark on one bank. Any help or ideas would be very much appreciated.

I have installed new pulgs and have indexed them as per the manual.

not too sure how you can have weak spark, with that type of system, you normaly get either spark or none, but if you indeed have weak spark then it must be possible.

Using a lighted automotive spark tester, I get just a faint light. The signal is there but the voltage is so low it will not jump a plug gap. Can't seem to find a good test on this engine...it seems people will avoid them...thanks for responding

I broke down last week and took it in to a local repair shop, within an hour they called to say that it was the ignition module.....that thing is not cheap.. The ordered the part and had it running in three days.
