1997 ELEUA Johnson 115 / 1997 Evenrude 115

I own a 1997 Seaswirl 170 with a 1997 Johnson ELEUA 115 , Have friend that has the same boat with a 1997 Spl Evenrude 115....Question what is the difference between these two motors.My boat will run 48mph(Gps) his will only do 35mph(Gps).I was told when i bought the motor that it was better,and it did cost more. Any info will be helpful. Thanks

I can't explain the difference in that much performance. Usually there is a price difference because the spl version is minus some frills,such as charging systems and or tilt and trim C Hawk
