Is this linkage supposed to twist like this in picture with red circle when in forward WOT? When it is in neutral it mates back up with the control cable like in 2nd photo.

Some will argue.------I suspect that the shift rod height is not set correctly.------Someone tried to adjust up top.-----If it was my motor I would remove lower unit.----Set shift rod height .----Then adjust cable to suit.----Then use a tie wrap to hold it together.-----How did it shift for you last season ???

Would you happen to know shift rod height for the 112 extra long shaft, some charts say 26 1/4 and others 26 27/32? Also, do you adjust cables while in neutral or forward? My manual states in forward but all posts I read say in neutral. It is a surface binnacle mount controller if that makes a difference.

So I did the adjustments and it works great in forward and I can get it to go into reverse but I am not get any throttle in reverse. It just feels like a hard stop as soon as it gets into reverse. If I put it in the high idle/start position using the button on the controls I can get full range in reverse though. I am perplexed with why I can get it to reverse up a bit in reverse while in gear. I had no issues with the rpms in reversr last season.
