1992 135 Black Max Water Pressure

Hey all. I have installed a new water pump, and poppet valve, thermostats etc., tenp guage.

I have a water pressure guage installed. It used to max at about 8 psi, and now it will reach 25psi at high rpm. Its at about 15 psi at 3500 rpm.

I'm thinking it's too high, given what I've read the max should be at about 15 psi.

The temp guage doesn't budge unless I'm at warm idle for 5 min or more. then it come off the peg about 1/8.

Anyone have an idea besides the poppet? It was a very straight forward install...not sure what could be wrong.

sounds like poppet isn't opening for whatever reason?.. high pressure is usually that and/or some type of blockage...... but also have seen some "high pressure motors" motors (20+ lbs at wot) not have any reason found for it, run jus fine.......
