Thanks for all the insight.
Just found out that the 5.0 Motor is a 2004 model.
I checked the Mercruiser site which states the following about dimensions of the 4.3 and 5.0MPI

Mercruiser 4.3 - Dimensions (L x W x H) 28 x 30 x 22" / 696 x 740 x 559 mm
Mercruiser 5.0 - Dimensions (L x W x H) 32 x 30 x 22" / 814 x 740 x 559 mm

those are the dimensions for the latest motors, i could not find the dimensions of the motors that i am using.
I'm just worried that the engine mounts for the 5.0 wont fit in.
Do i also need to change the Y pipe for this conversion as well?
