bought new flywheel part #582573 which matches my old one except on the old one the center hub on the inside there is another number which is 583844.
both flywheels look the same other then on the center inside hub there are 2 timing marks, the 1 across from the key is in the same place, the other is 90 deg, off.
Is this goin to be a problem, And if it is can I take the old center piece off and put it on the new one?
Thanks

Re: 1990 johnson GT 175 Flywheel

OMC made two different flywheels for the 175's with the 35 amp alternator. The early flywheels were for engines with the double power packs. When OMC went to a single pack in 1989, they added the quick start feature and redesigned the flywheel hub-giving the flywheel a new part number 583844. It is different and will not work with the old double pack ignition system and vice versa. The center timing ring is set at the factory and are not something a normal consumer can work on.
