Sounds like you are dropping a cylinder or two. Run your compression and spark tests.

The compression sounds good. The spark should jump 7/16 gap sharp and blue snap with all plugs removed. You can test it with a CDI Electronics multiple tester like the ones sold here at iboats or just do them one at a time with the rest of the plugs out but grounded to the block.

The KD 2756 Calibration Ignition Tester is a good one for testing one hole at a time with the other plugs removed.

Do you know if this is a change from previous performance?

What are your WOT rpms?

Are all the linkages going to wot? What's the timing set at? Are you sure it's hitting on all 6 at wot?

Granted, you'll have some weight differences but that should only affect handling. Going from a crossflow (1940's technology) to a looper (90's technology) should be like going from a Corvair to a Corvette. You should be spinning the same prop a bunch more than with the crossflow.

I have an 87 200 OMC, on my 20' Grady White I am lucky to get 55 MPH down wind with stern seas. Mine is running top notch, although I am probably heavier than you. I used the Sea Foam to decarb and gained about 5 PSI in each cylinder and cleaned out the carb. Make sure you have new plugs and the carb is tuned and clean.
