Hello,
So, my TinyTach just died and I'm thinking about installing a Teleflex or similar style in dash tach.

The motor is the 1989 Force 35 - Model 357Y94 Serial 1012.

Attached is a photo of the "electrical connection strip" on my motor with the corresponding sticker that describes where each terminal goes.

It looks like there is a terminal ready for a tachometer install...purple wire.

Is the install as easy as running a wire from the back of the tach to this terminal?
And also probably run a ground wire?

Will I need to run a separate power wire, or will the tach terminal power it?

Also, any recommendations on style or type or brand that I should look at?
Is there a specific type of tach I need.

Thanks!

The wiring harness should have an extra lead or the purple lead taped back?
The harness is one they used for a lot of motors and should have an extra lead.

The tach you'll need is a 20 pole tach.

Thanks for the help! It looks like there are a few leads taped back up under the console...Perfect!

The research I have found so far is saying that I need a 12 pole tach....several different sources, specifically the
"Faria 32805 Euro 7000 rpm"
Installation Instructions PDF I found on-line. This is the model I'm looking at purchasing, and it lists the 1989 Force 35 as needing a 12 Pole Tach.

I am inclined to trust your information and experience with these motors, but I want to be sure before I order.

Why do you say I need a 20 pole?

Thanks again for the help!!!!
