So, I'm STILL continuing my quest for the, "Perfect Fishing Boat"!
I have a Grumman 18' with a 70 'Rude, hanging off the back and a guy wants to trade me for a 1988 Bayliner Trophy with a 125 merc hanging off the back, ( he told me he has health issues now, wants a smaller boat, easier to launch etc.).
The boat looks good in the pics, (we're 250 miles apart), but I've learned Bayliner does weird things with their boats motor/drive wise.
From what I've found, this outboard drops 2 cylinders below 2000 rpm, is a bit rough? when the other 2 kick in.
Is a hybrid Force motor, (uses that drive system).
So, that all being said, what's the skinny on this outboard.
Should I say Naaaaaa, or go for it?
What is the compression on one of these?
Anything else I should look at???

I'd pass because it's a late 80's bayliner

hmmm, now the "lust" is starting to wear thin!
Those were not the "best years" for Bayliner, but you never know, this may have a solid floor, good transom?!
I wonder now, as the price has gone down twice.............

I would have no issues with the motor that is all mercury no force involved in it. The boat is a different story altogether.
