I bought this boat last year it had a bad transom has a 115 horse yamaha did a compression test all is good I am getting ready to monstaline the transom splash well and the flat part on top waiting for weather to clear up. I already replaced transom used the old timers formula, I will get some pics up I have a few.

Following. I just pulled the flooring out Friday on my GLS 195. Same year as yours. Looking forward to seeing some pics, if you have any of the outside Hull I'd like to see them to compare. I think someone messed with the original "great lakes special" stickers.

First three coats of old timers formula give it a few days then spar varnish

I never removed it I removed the hardware it had on the knee brace then I drilled all the other bolts on the face of the transom like 17 of them. I then pushed all the bolts into the foam the ones that wouldn't come out some of them just spin and don't come out so drill and push them in . When I put the new transom in I put the hardware in where you can reach around and put a nut on the other side there was six I believe on the rest I used stainless steel lag bolts all of them went in with 5200 hope that helps.
