I am using an SE106 and quite frankly don't know how they would know if you have a BBC or SBC in front of it. I have a mildly built 350 and after the initial wear in period (a little gear noise) it has been great!

You are quite right, they will never know.
Only you'll know about the gear ratio issue, I don't think your SBC uses a 1.32:1

Thanks again to everyones input. I am going to go the 106 route They offer a 1:47:1 ratio. I'll just have to watch the rpm's I ran a 1:50 last year same 141/2 x 19 prop and I would hit 5200- 5300 rpm's The boat screamed but I didn't like pushing it that much.
