1986 evinrude starts but dies quickly 15hp pull start

i just installed a new fuel pump on the motor and the line that goes to the fuel pump its a larger diameter than the original line the motor starts bur only runns for a few seconds and then it dies and it wont start again until I choke it and prime it again. what could be the problem any help would be greatly appreciated it is also a e15 RC de 1986 15hp it also has new spark plugs

Get the proper size line and some good clamps.

Be sure you have the right fuel pump. Should drop in. Changes in hose sizes are an indicator something's not right.
