If you take the two original 1983 fuel pump numbers to a dealer, (393648,393650) they will superceded them to the two current part numbers: 438559 and 393870. The 870 part number is actually a kit, including (a second) one 559 pump and a hose, heat-bent to look like a "J", as seen in the factory 1983 diagram. As you look at the original factory diagram, there are other special hoses with part numbers on them. Such as 324078, and 322762. These are special hoses, heated at the factory to bend in a tight radius. If you use normal bulk hose in these applications, the hose can kink and restrict fuel flow, causing a potential lean condition. Make sure you use original factory-made hoses in these instances.
