Also, the leak stop spray stuff is that a nono on boats? the rubber in a can... i dont hear anyone talking about the rustoleum product that says its fiberglass safe.

Yeah it's NO NO on boats. It's hard to see on your pics if your grinding is sufficient. If you can see fresh Pink glass and it's smooth etc.. then yeah you're good to go. Wipe it down with Acetone an lay down a couple of layers of 1708 fabric and you'll be good to go. Then go on the outside and grind it down and lay down a couple of layers of 1.5 oz CSM and then sand and fair an roll on a couple of layers of Paint or Gelcoat and you'll be back on the water.

I think i will sand/gride some more just to be certain, i do see woven material, i assume i dont want to sand that too much, but i do see greenish glass and a wack load of it, so i will grind that down some more. since the original hole bigger hole is sort of in a v shape from the bottom, do i fill that up with something before i glass? or do i just keep packing fiberglass into the hole to fill it up. and satured it plenty

Hello, im having a rough time finding local 1708
i search http://www.noahsmarine.com/items.asp?Cc=7
All i can find is 17oz with .75oz

I did find 24 oz. BIAX 0/90 - 50" with 1 oz Mat.
http://www.noahsmarine.com/items.asp?Cc=LT800

Not sure if this is good enough?

I think im finding the CSM [h=1]1.5 OZ X 50" wide fiberglass MAT - price per YARD[/h]
http://www.noahsmarine.com/ItemMatr...d&selelement4=undefined&selelement5=undefined

I assumed CSM was not compatible with Epoxi?
or am i wrong here.

not sure which one to choose, i see west system being preferred,

watching video's polyester seems to be good. i think i will go that way. i think especially with CSM. with what i need to do.

Since the Hole in the boat is in a v shape from under the boat, there will need to be many layers from the outside

Having said, that i know i need to use CSM,but also need to use some sort of strong glass for the stringers, and whole patching from the inside, locally all i can find is

since the side i have dosent look like it has 1708
would this suffice

http://www.marineoutfitters.ca/index.cfm?category=10060|10796&product=32159483&code=023289009465
ined&amp ;selelement3=undefined&selelement4=undefined&a mp;selelement5=undefined

I assume i will use this to patch the holes with layers, and CSM for the stringers?
or would i use CSM for all and then ontop of CSM i would put the woven glass on the holes

OK this is the fabric you want to use...http://www.noahsmarine.com/itemdesc.asp?ic=DB600M along with 1.5oz CSM. Your layup schedule should be like this. Tape over the holes on the outside with duct tape then on the inside lay down a layer of CSM about the size of the hole, then a layer of 1708 about 1" bigger than the hole then another layer of 1708 3" larger than the previous one. DONE!! Wait 2 hours and go to the outside. Grind it down to dish it out and remove All the bad gel coat and cracking then laydown ONLY CSM over the patch area. Finish it off using Fairing/Fill material.
