Forgive me if it has been asked before but I cant seem to find what I am looking for.

I would like to run some checks on the stator, trigger, and coils. I would like to know what resistance values I should be looking for on these items. I am suspecting a weak spark condition which has pointed me to the ignition system.

Thanks guys.

Re: 1983 18hp ignition troubles

Here is what I got.

Trigger = brwn/yellw to brwn/wht = 780ohm

Black Stator = Black/white to ground = 139ohm
Black/yellow to ground = 300ohm
Black/yellow to black/white = 285ohm

Ignition coils = + terminal to - terminal = 0.4ohm and 0.3ohm
-terminal to spark plug tower = 910ohm and 921ohm

Could someone tell me if these valuse are ok
