Looks like a fun - and big - project. Definitely post a lot of pics. I?ll follow along! I have a boat almost that size I just can?t wait to dig into again once winter is over...

Pulled carpet in the V birth area, getting my fist glimps at how she is put together. It looks like they painted the underside and put a layer of mat on then put in place with big staples and glassed or tabed in on the sides of the hull. This area is 68" wide at the aft end by 94 inches to the bow, with three storage areas. One on each side and a big one one in the middle.

Finally got some lights up inside the shelter, still looking for some information about this from my previous posts. If asking in the wrong place please redirect me to a group that might shed some light on her history actual aker and monetary value. As previously stated there is little on the web to include NADA value.

Last weekend found some time to remove a piece of v birth at the bow and a little more carpet. What I'm seeing is that they used 5/8th inch on this area and 1/2 inch down both sides where the head and galley cabinets and enclosures are, back through the aft birth. I bought 5 sheets of 3/4 and one 1/2 inch sheet. Thoughts about using the 3/4 inch in the rebuild or should I get the same thickness as I removed? Understand it weighs more by 25 to 50 lbs a sheet and is thicker and might cause some fit issues.

If it was me I'd use the material you already bought for the rebuild. Looks like you're really getting into her now!
Nice temporary shed, by the way.

Thanks Mike, using 3/4 will add about 300 lbs if I need all 5 sheets. Removing plumbing and wiring to get the galley cabinets out of the way, and then removing the head enclosure is the next big task.

Spent a day with the help of a friend and about $100 on the grey tarp and some rope and tie downs, the rest was repurposed from the 10 by 20s I had.

Other then these two magazine articles on goggle books I cannot find out anything else about this old boat. I see none for sale my guess is that either there isn't any left being a rare find or they are in service still with no issues and very reliable. I know the manufactuer went out of business in 81 and that inagulp and I are the only two in iboats history to attempt a restoration. Right now she is a $600 restoration starter kit with good potental for completion and splash in the next six months to a year. Any information about her will be greatly appriciated.

Ayuh,.... It's an old boat, from a long gone small time manufacturer,....
I'm guessin' most of the copies of that hull that were made were long ago abandoned, crushed, rotted, Whatever,....
Unless an ole hull has a "Cult Followin' ", yer not gonna find much info, much less a Value listed,....
At this point, it's worth exactly what ya paid for it,....
When yer ready to sell it,... It'll be "Worth" whatever somebody else is willin' to pay for it,...

Btw,..... Unless the hull has a Cult Followin',....
You'll never, Ever get yer rebuild co$t$ out of it,....
It just don't happen,....

Few hulls fit the bill,....
HiLiner 222s can bring Premium prices here in the 1000 Islands region,....
20 Grand for a 40 plus year old hull, that's been rebuilt, 'n refit with current model driveline,...

Some old Bertram models as well,....

My Old Town Atlantis, by Old Town Canoe Co. also brings extreme premiums,....
When rebuilt, 'n refit Right,....

Thanks for answering the best you can given this old boat and lack of cult like following. Understand that she is worth what I believe she worth to me. I bought her knowing she needed a lot of work, notably a near full restoration, full gut and rebuild of the interior and repower. She has good portability being 8' wide 25' long add bow pulpit and swim Platform she's 29' overall on the trailer, hitch to outdrive she's 32 1/2' LOA. haven't put her on the scale yet, she is said to displace 4400 lbs. per the brochure and towed easy with my 2500 HD on the way home. Plan to use her on the Ohio for touring and tow up to the Great lakes for some walleye and salmon fishing.

I look at it this way. Look at a boat that is new and the price it cost for the same thing you got. The boat your working on will actually be a better boat than that. If you are like me you never sell or get rid of anything and wear it out. It is worth every dime then.

I do this same thing to the cars I drive. They got way more in them than they are worth. But if you use them it is the cheapest thing per mile traveled of anything else you can do.

Same with the boats. It is practically free for what you are getting in return. Like the commercial says Now what would you pay?

The restorers game is very beneficial to the end user only. Is not a way to make money. if your doing it for the right reason it is the best/cheapest way to enjoy a hobby.

Where you go on the ohio. I will be putting in on the licking river in ky 4 miles from riverfront in ohio.

No stranger to restorations and rebuilds. I put about 15K in a pontoon restration over a 4 year period where it stared with an 87 Riviera Cruisier 24' with 19" dia toons. In two years after her maiden voyage summer of 14 had her so heavy that I couldn't get out of the water, just plowing. In Nov 16 I bought a second chassis with 22" dia toons that was 24 ' rechecked carpeted and tranfered every thing from the carpet up over. See pics below. Closest landings for me are SW of Louisvile they are Salt River at West Point or Brandenburg.
