the sealer is not nessecary when you do the water pump kit and the thermostat kit theyll come with gaskets and as long as you follow the torque specs in the manual you should be fine.... ive never used the stuff and it makes taking stuff apart next to impossible

I've always used OMC gasket sealing compond on any water pump I've ever put together with gaskets. As far as the older mtrs with no gaskets I use 3m-847. Never had a problem. The manual tells you that for a reason.

Yes that is on the List, I wasnt aware of an over heat alarm. thank so much for your imput.

Been real busy the last few weeks, Just had a Grandbaby born and there were serious issues, Born at 1 pound, so been busy back an forth from Heber to Phoenix, also Oldest Grandbaby (18 months) is in my care untill Mother and the newborn are in better shape. SO, no time for the boat at the moment. Ill jump back in when things plane out.
