1979 Evinrude 25hp x-long shaft weight?

Hey all any idea where I can get a correct weight for this outboard? I need to replace the impellor and am trying to decide if I should risk taking the motor off with the boat at my seawall or just put the whole thing on the trailer...

OK I found the weight at 106 pounds and decided to pull the boat. Got the lower unit off add found a mess so I have a few questions:

1. Why would the pin for the impeller fall out and end up where it did (green) under the metal plate?

2. The areas in red are full of real thick nasty goo like wet gritty gearlube. Is this sand? Have I got ground up gears somewhere?

3. The old impeller came out in 4 pieces and I think there is a BB sized piece missing. Whats the best way to flush out the upper half of the motor?
