1978 Evinrude 15 = Johnson?

Normally I would assume the answer is "yes", but you know what assume spells.

I have been looking for a OEM service manual and found one for a '78 Johnson 9.9/15. I've owned a couple of OMC engines, and the factory service manuals I've had always specify both Evinrude AND Johnson. The particular book I'm looking at now just says Johnson on the cover.

Do you think there's actually any differences between a 1978 Evinrude and Johnson? Should I keep looking for an Evinrude specific book?

Same thing.

Sometime between 78 and 80 they combined the manuals.
