I just bought this yesterday. It has a 1978 150 HP Johnson outboard on the back. I am trying to figure out what the black knob on top of the remote control housing does. I assume the small lever below the main throttle handle is to control the the idle when starting (pull it up towards me to increase idle?).
There is a black knob on the top which turns but what does it do. The motor is turning but not starting. Does this knob effect it?
I purchased the motor service manual on-line but there is no mention of the remote control. Would this be covered by the boat manual ( which I can't find), or the motor owners manual.
