1973 Merc 500 VS 04 Merc ELPTO

Hi all:

I have a '73 Merc 500 (50 HP), and my father has a barge with an '04 MErc 40 HP ELPTO. My question is: Does anyone know if the props of these motors are interchangeable? I.E., are the splines the same, etc.? I was hoping someone could tell me BEFORE I go to all the troble of removing both to see for myself. I have the Merc manual for the 500, but NOT for the 04, so I couldn't look it up, and searching around didn't turn up the answer.

Those should both be 13 spline thru-hub-exhaust. Prop should fit.

If you go to the iboats prop store page and look up props for both motors and compare the sku numbers shouldn't take long to figure out.
