Re: 1973 115 Evinrude sneezing

I got my reeds form a boat mechanic that had some used reeds. They were in really good shape, so I desided to give them a try before investing in Boysen. I looked around and had some trouble finding new stainless reeds. There was a guy a ebay that had several sets of stainless reeds for about $26.00,(used).
Hope this helps,
hoss

How ya doin' this morning,
I'm kinda scare to mess with it now, it's now idling like a new motor. Yesterday it sat there and idled for about 15 to 20 minutes in a 55 gallon drum, never missed a lick.

You can get new steel ones fron any John/Evin dealer. Theyre about 9.50 for each reed.

Just pulled the boat out of the pond and it purrs like a cat, in gear and while idling. Thanks for the info Dhadley. I would once again like to thank all who helped me for your time, words of wisdom and patience.
hoss123

Yes sir,
Will let ya know as soon as I get a chance. I may be a while though, got some dozer work to do over the next couple of days, and this weekend I am going to do some red-fishing over in Texas, never been before but heard it's a blast.
