1971 johnson 125 water shooting out of hole in front of lower unit

Had it running in a tank and as water got lower I noticed water shooting out of a small hole where lower unit meets exhaust housing in front of lower unit. Is this normal?

My 76 does the same thing.

Trying to make sure everything is right on this motor before it goes out on the lake, to much time invested to screw up now.

I fully understand. If you run it on water ears you will probably see water coming from other places also.

yep I agree there is a relief hole located there on many omc lower units ,perfectly normal
