1969 Johnson 55hp, no power, then cuts out!

my outboard will not tick over unless i have in running at low rev, plus ok going at 5 knots, then full throttle and half the power, wont even plane on 16ft boot, then after 30 sec to a 1 min, engine dies and cuts out, then will start after a bit but same proplem?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

any idears or sale it!

Are you running on all cylinders? Have you verified spark at each plug?

Checked compression? If you have spark and compression, there is a fuel delivery issue.

no, not checked spark, but throttle is full down and can hear its not full rev, plus it splutters and misses then dies and cuts out, almost like over choking maybe, only guessing?
