G'day Again,

Is there a simple way to fit a tachometer to my electric start '67 60HP V-4 Sportfour? I would like to check what the engine RPM's are at WOT but without a working Tacho I'm clueless! I notice on the boat's dash there is an unused binnacle next to the speedo.
Cheers William

Modern outboards use tachometers that get their signal from the alternator. So you are in luck, just get a tach of your choice (there are lots of them to choose from), and connect it to one of the yellow wires going to the rectifier. Set the tach to 6 pulses (12 pole).
