1964 Starcraft with 40hp Johnson, no spark, running lights don't work.

Fuses check, starter motor will run when jumpered. Solenoid checks out, safety switch also. The running lights is odd, but don't think that relates. Have power at the switch and when I turn it to start also. 2 fuses in junction box are ok. No wires damaged, etc. No spark also. Frustrated.

OH FOR CRYING OUT LOUD. I just read some posts, and one about the throttle sparked a thought. Tried cranking with moving that fwd and back, but nothing. Then when I moved the choke lever, it turned over with the key! JOODAS. But it still has no spark. I am going to remove the flywheel and inspect the coils. All other systems and switches seem fine, grounds are good, etc.
