1963 850 Fuel Pump leak?

Hi

I have been trying to get this motor started with some success as in I puled the leg off and did actually get it to start however... I primed it today and the pump did not get hard and I had fuel leaking out of the bottom of the leg (leg is removed so It seems to be coming out of the crank case where the shaft goes in) Is this because the fuel pump diaphragm is leaking into the crank case and then out the bottom?

Yes if the carbs arn't leaking one of the pump diaphams are.

I changed the pump diaphragms today and that fixed it. the bottom pump diaphragm was split and the top one was stiff.
