I have a 1957 Gale Buccaneer 5hp model 5D14B. Looking for the fuel pump repair kit or part number.

Im not really certain why they move the Gale brand motors out of the OMC forum? Moderators??

They are OMC through and through.

Anyways, not sure if there is a kit for that pump. I have made my own diaphragms out of stock material.

We agreed on that several years ago. The catalyst was Sea King.

If it has the original fuel pump, it has a double layer diaphragm, with the metal support riveted to the center of it. That diaphragm and related parts has been not available for umpteen years. Having said that, I have used the 393103 kit (18-7820). The only thing in it that you can use is the diaphragm and plastic support. You have to "move" one of the lower corner holes upward 1/2 hole width. But you are SOL if you need the gasket unless you think you can make one.

Personally, I think the best cure is to just slap on a new 18-7350 fuel pump from here at iboats.

Will the 18-7350 bolt right on without modification.

It will if the small hose nipple doesn't point right at some obstruction. The big one can be rotated to 4 different directions. They say not to mount it upside down.

No kit, they were obsolete many years ago. Get a new pump here at iboats 18-7350 or 18-7351. Either one will work.

Now the mods can put this 5 year old thread back in the archives.
