I just got a 53 Lightwin off craigslist, was missing the recoil cover. Bought a replacement cover off ebay; but I'm still missing the bolts. Anyone know what length / size bolts to fit?
I believe those are fillister head screws that go all the way through the fuel tank, right? That makes them somewhat special and you will be lucky if you can find them locally. They are part number 204535. Try an Evinrude dealer. Or post a want ad on the antique outboard club's website, www.aomci.org The Ad is free. As for the size, yes, 1/4-20 but I don't know the length. Probably somewhere around 5".
