Just wondering...

What's your standard asking price for a 1970s to 1980s Whaler 17' center console with a 70-90 HP 2stroke outboard?

I've been looking for years, and around me (Maryland), they're asking between $6.000 to $10,000.

A local guy just advertised one for $3ooo. I just emailed him. I'm pretty much ready to buy it sight unseen, unless its totally trashed beyond all repair.

Don't get me wrong, I do like the Boston Whaler, but $34k for a 17' skiff? DANG!

Just make sure the foam isn't saturated/waterlogged (yeah, that happens to Whalers too). No holes in the outer hull and it should be so heavy that you can't budge it by hand.

Even Whalers can be beat up in 30-40 years. They can also be lovingly cared for.

The range you offer, $6K to $10K, sounds about right for sound examples. A $3K Whaler 17 probably has some big problems.
