Morning all,
Looking at an alloy rig powered by a 2005 150 Yamaha 4 Stroke.
100 hours approx. This is the right HP for the boat so no issue there.
I am looking for feedback from owners or techs who have had a lot to do with this motor. Performance, reliability & any known mech problems. Has about three months warranty left.
I would prefer a 150 Zuke with five years warranty so please feel free to compare the two motors.
Regards,
Peter

Re: 150 Yamaha 4 Stroke - Opinions

The guides at the fish camp I go to on Lake Of The Woods all switched from Yammy 150s to Suzi 150 "big block" this year. Don't know exactly why, but they claim the Suzi has more low end torque.

Last year they said the Yammy was the best 150 4 strokes available, but the "big block" Suzis weren't available last year.

I suspect that the truth is that they are both good engines and the guys got a better deal or a better warranty with the Suzi.

I rode with the Yammies last year and the Suzis this year. I liked the Suzis better, but that is because they were quieter.
