150 black max help

just got my first mercury and the water pump was out, this is a 1989 with the factory impeller i know thats hard to beleive but the motor has 47 hours, anyway replaced pump have good water out of upper ports but nothing out of tell tale thermostats seem good

My 82 black max 175 was doing the same thing until I ran it in a barrel instead of on the garden hose.

A lot of those V6 motors have the telltale downstream of the thermostats. Until the motor warms up, you will not have a telltale. On the flusher, they may not warm up, and you will never see a telltale.

Does water exit the prop? grates above A-V plate? If so, she is pumping.
